Baby Ryan is here!
Please welcome the newest member of Team Thompson, Ryan Paul. He didn't want to come out right away but, after 16 1/2 hours of labor, he finally made his appearance. Mommy and Ryan will be home Thursday morning and Claire and Jay have their welcome signs ready.
Stats for the stats crazy:
- Born Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at 7:00pm at Stanford's Lucile Packard Children's Hospital
- 8 lbs, 7 oz
- 21 1/2 in
A special thanks to Stanford Hospital for understanding our insistence on a vaginal birth and for having the facilities and resources (like an on-site anesthesiologist) that allowed us to wait a little longer and avoid cutting him out via a caesarean section even when the playbook said otherwise. Mommy and baby are so much happier and healthier today as a result! And thanks for delivering all three of our kids!

Remembering Great Grandpa Thompson's WWII Service
On the Thompson side of the family, Great Grandpa Thompson served in Europe during World War II and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for his efforts. We're proud of the Thompsons that have defended our country: Great Grandma, who served in England during WWII; Great Uncle Jay, who flew in the Air Force; and Grandpa Don, who flew in the Navy.
